During her recovery, Adrianne was determined to turn tragedy into opportunity to help others.
She has become a strong voice for the amputee community, supporting organizations that share her value for helping others.
This journey began with shortly after losing her leg, when Adrianne was connected with Limbs for Life. As she learned about their mission and was drawn to their shared passion and contacted them to get involved. Since that first call, Adrianne has dedicated herself to direct fundraising and advocacy for Limbs for Life, donating fly miles and hotel points, giving speeches on their behalf, and encouraging others to give the gift of mobility.
Adrianne’s story came full circle in 2016, when she herself ran the Boston Marathon on behalf of Limbs for Life, raising over $25,000 to support their work. She inspired thousands of spectators along the route, particularly when she triumphantly – and defiantly – crossed the finish line.
